Geoff Simons is again the Sports Liaison Officer for the 2008 Masters Games.
He will be fulltime with the games office during November to liaise with all
sports co-ordinators, but will be working part time before that. Geoff has been
involved in organising sports events for 25 years. His initial roles were in
rugby, in which he still is involved, but this became across many sports when he
was appointed to the Regional Sports Director for Otago Secondary Schools in
1992.
Geoff has lived all of his life in Dunedin and currently lecturers at the
Sports Institute of Otago. His experience in the administration of multi-sport
events includes organising three NZ Area Schools Tournaments and being Event
Manager of two NZ University Games.
"I enjoyed being part of the games last time in Dunedin. Most the sport
coordinators I have worked with in other events, and they do such a good job,
it makes my work easy."
