Q: What dates will the games be held in Dunedin in 2008?
A: Saturday February 2 to Sunday February 10 2008 - see sports information for specific dates for sports.
Q: How old do you have to be to participate in the Games?
A: Sports set the age groups, however most are 30+, however Ice Figure Skating is 18+ and Croquet is 45+
Q: How much does it cost to enter the Games?
A: Registration Fees are - Early bird (before 31 October 2007) $40 ; Standard Registration (1 November 2007 to 9 January 2008) $50; Late Registration (after 9 January) $70. Plus the cost of any sports fees. You may join as a Supporter if you want to come to watch the games and support your friends and family, this costs $35.
Q: How do I find out about accommodation during the Games?
A: Contact the Dunedin City Council Information Centre they are organising accommodation on behalf of Games participants.
Q: Where is the Games Village?
A: The 2008 NZ Masters Games Village will be at the University of Otago.
Q: Do I have to be an accomplished athlete or qualify to enter the games?
A: No, the Masters Games is for persons of all levels. Some sports do have restrictions due to safety and other reasons so please check with the sport if you have any questions. Most sports are available to all and to do your personal best is the key to the Masters.
Q: Can I enter more than one sport?
A: Yes, you can enter as many sports as you wish. You should always check the timetable before entering different sports to ensure that there are no clashes in your timetable.
